The 2024 Copa América is football tournament that will take place in USA from June 20 to July 14, 2024. Number of teams in this tournament are back to 16 teams, similar with 2016 tournament. Furthermore, those teams are coming from CONMEBOL and CONCACAF zone.
Since number of teams are back to normal, number of groups are also back to 4 groups where top 2 teams will advance to quarterfinals. Remember that the last tournament only has 10 participants where all of them are coming from South America or CONMEBOL because of pandemic situation.
The 2021 Champion, Argentina, is in Group A. All participants are as follows
- Group A : Argentina, Peru, Chile, Canada
- Group B : Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, Jamaica
- Group C : USA, Uruguay, Panama, Bolivia
- Group D : Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Costa Rica
Coincidentally, this tournament is held at the same time as Euro 2024. So, people around the world can watch two football biggest tournaments at the same time.
This year tournament will be held in US where US soccer team have a good chance to lift the trophy because they will play in front of their supporters. But, do not forget the Lionel Messi, the leader of Argentina team, plays for Inter Miami FC, football league in USA.
