UEFA Champions League 2022/2023 Tournament

UEFA Champions League is an annual tournament. It is one of the most prestigious football tournaments in the world and the most prestigious club competition in European football, played by the national league champions. It started from 1955 and its format has been changed several times.

The tournament begins with a group stage of 32 teams, divided into eight groups of four. Each team plays six group stage games, meeting the other teams home and away in a round-robin format. Group winners and runners-up then progress to the next round. The third-placed team enters the UEFA Europa League Knock Out rounds.

This year, the group stage is played from September to November, whilst the knock-out stage usually starts in February. The knock-out ties are played in a two-legged format, except final match. The final is typically held in the last two weeks of May, or in the early days of June. Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey will host the final match.

This template has similar design with other soccer templates. All group stage matches are set. Score fields are put in between each home and away teams. You can enter score results in particular score fields in group stages. All group standings will be adjusted accordingly.

Due to several restrictions in Knock Out rounds, different from Euro or World Cup knock out matches arrangement, teams who qualify to Knock Out rounds in this tournament will be paired by UEFA drawing lots. It means, no teams know which teams they will face in Knock Out rounds while competing in group stages.

To accommodate that in this spreadsheet, you can select pairing teams in Home columns. Teams who advance to the next round will be shown in tables at the right side. Pair them and type the scores. Do this until final match.
